my recent trip to Deustchland

Firstly, wasnt really thrilled to go during winter time..since i have to pack in sweaters, extra shoes etc which is going make my load heavier. And also this trip, yours truly has decided to take train, instead of the usual connecting flight from Frankfurt. After a previous unpleasant feeling on a particular "L" airlines, we have switched to much homelier "M" airlines..hence comes train rides into the picture..well,that's the beginning of my adventure!!
Landed in Frankfurt in the wee hours of the morning. The immigration was exceptionally fast and i was making my way with my laptop bag to pick up my luggage bag and then tried to locate signs that directs to the ICE train station shuttle bus.
Soon i found my self facing a very unfriendly information desk lady who managed to direct me out to the Shuttle bus in 3 words and NO SMILE!!

Then i pulled my 17kg luggage up on the bus, placed it in one corner.I was suprised, the bus wasnt even disable people friendly..hmmm.
Then i got off at the ICE station and waited patiently for my train to arrive in 1 hour!! sigh....
it was getting really really cold and windy , thankgoodness for my gloves!

The train came on time at 8 am, i pulled up my luggage on it , which was really a struggle and started looking for my seat blurly. An elderly man who spoke "abit of english" came to my rescue and guided me to my seat...phew. Again i have to deal with my luggage. The luggage compartment were above the seats and i was sure i will not be able to carry it up and place it there...sooo i decided to just slowly push it to leg room of the seat next to me, and started praying that it will remain unoccupied for the rest of the journey. At that point of time, it started to dawn upon me if taking the train was a good decision. Well, it was too late to do anything about it, so i decided to keep my spirits up and enjoy the ride.

2 hours later, there i was feeling all groggy, blur and sleepy arriving at the my destination. Brought my luggage of the train, with all the strength i have left and tried to looked for signs to make my way out of the station. Well although they were in English , i had to guess and assume i way out, as the direction given by the conference organizer, didnt furnish me with those details except to tell us that the station was located across the hotel. Well i found out later that ACROSS here means crossing over 5 streets and tram lanes!!!! Aiyoo, and imagine i had to do this while dragging my luggage and carrying my laptop bag in freezing cold weather...brrrrr
What else could go wrong??!!

Got to hotel and was told that my room is not going to be ready for another 2 hours!!!!
Oh my...i was in desperate need for a shower and coffee..arrgghhh... unpacked my stuffs, grabbed my toiletries and headed for the hotel washroom. Freshened up and decided to take a walk to the Christkindlesmarkt which is about 7 mins away.
Christkindlesmarkt takes place from 27th November to 24th December every year.

The Christmas Market of Nuremberg in Bavaria is one of the best and most traditional Christmas markets in Germany. It is celebrated on the main square of Nuremberg's Old Town, and you can stroll through 180 wooden huts festooned with red and white cloth, lights, and fresh garlands. Try the Nuremberg bratwursts, little charcoal-grilled sausages, glub wein and have some gingerbread cookies as dessert.
Well, this place certainly brings back lots of memories.:)...
once there, i searched frantically for a coffee shop and quickly settled down with a nice cup of cappucino...hmmm lovely....the day went on well after that!....well , sort of :-p
